     Our new Family members
   Ice and Kayla

We would just like to introduce our new Family members Ice and Kayla born June 3/07, parents are from the very best German Bloodlines,

Dam.... Breena von Goodshepherd                X              Sire... Das Samson Von Talus Haus

Most of these baby pictures are of our male Ice as his sister Kayla was sleeping at the time I took these pictures, so will have pictures of her up in the next few days, and from the pictures you can see he is going to be a handful, to-day he was swinging off his grandmothers tail, Tufflove was not to impressed.

At 6 weeks of age after they have had their needles and worming and microchips I start there training, and please don't let any of the schutzhund people tell you it kills their drive, it just isn't so, they either have drive or they don`t. So next week they go see their doctor.

Here are a few pictures of Kayla, thanks to Mark and Greg for holding her for us.

                                                                       July 17th/07...Vet day

Both Kayla and Ice weighed in at 14 1/2 pounds, Doctor Peter said they both had good hearts, eyes, ears and Ice had both his testicles down, why to go Ice.  Both puppies were very brave when they got their needles,  but if you could see the size of the microchip needle you would wonder why they didn't yelp in pain.

I took a picture of John`s face while Peter put the chip in, you can see that John would never make a vet or a doctor. All in all it was a good day, now I can take my pups away from home a bit, so this weekend there is a dog show over in Oshawa where Tuffy is trying out for her CDX Title, so just to get the pups use to the dog shows we will bring them with us.

August 8th/09

To-day Kayla and Ice went to town for their temperament test and I must say they passed 100%, they walk over to ever stranger that would pay attention to them and didn't even notice all the 18 wheelers going bye and all the loud strange noises going on, they were having a blast of fun, looking and investigating everything that came their way.

August 9th/07

It`s a lot cooler to-day so Kayla and Ice have now started their obedience training, I like to start the puppies at 6 weeks, but the weather has been just to hot to do any kind of training. Kayla and Ice both walk nicely on the leash and both know the sit command. So to-day Kayla and Ice both went eagerly over the A-Frame, lowered of course. They I started them on a small track and both pups picked that up quickly. Tomorrow I will have pictures of them going over the A-Frame and tracking. They are such nice puppies to work with, always happen and eager to please.

                                                                              August 24th/07

Took Ice and Kayla for their second set of shots and to get them weighed in, we could not believe the scales when Ice weighed in at 31 1/2 lbs. and Kayla was close behind at 30 lbs. So that is close to 16 lbs a month they gained.

We sure would not want to take Kayla to a public pool because for some reason she loves to pee-pee in her own little pool, They both play really rough so we separated them as we do not want any domination or to see who's the boss for they will soon find out that I am the Alfa, but I think Kayla is the instigator , as she is always on top of Ice.

Both are going over the "A" Frame nicely, now it's time to make it a bit higher. They both walk nicely on the leash and come when called, so important is this one command that anytime they come when I call them they get a treat and lots and lots of praise. Please remember the most important command is come, not just in the house or outside your house, but where there are distractions, like in the park, or in the woods where there are so many different smells.

Tuesday October 2/07

Kala and Ice started Puppy Class with Roseann DeLuca  where they learn to play nicely with the other puppy's and do a bit of obedience, I am handling Ice and John is handling Kayla, we must keep them on opposite sides of the room or all they want to do is play with each other. Both pups love going to school and its a nice place to meet a lot of other puppies for them to play with. If anyone is interested in taking their dog or pup for training, Click on the picture and it will take you to the best trainer I know.

Here are a few pictures taken over the past few weeks, they are really teething now and are they ever getting big, I took Ice to the Schutzhund club last week just to let him watch all the action, and he really enjoyed that, so maybe I will start him on The Sport of Schutzund when he is older.
